The Reds kicked the new season off with a bang, displaying big bats early and often. The Reds spotted starting pitcher Noah a 4-run lead, with hits by Paul and Kurt and bases-loaded walks to Destiny and Marshall. In the 2nd Jarrett walked, stole second and moved up to third on an infield hit by Joseph. Both scored on a moonshot to the fence by Jacob, who was later driven home by Kurt. Kurt added to his night with a shot off the centre-field fence, scoring Jack and Ian ahead of him on a near inside-the-park homer (we'll call it a triple and an error). Other highlights: Marshall's first base-hit, Jack and Paul with multi-hit games, and Jacob picking up 3 hits in his debut. Defensively, 3B Joseph made a nice play, and Renisha, Kieran and Destiny all recorded outs at second base, while Kurt and Ian made athletic plays at first. Noah logged two solid innings on the mound, as did Kurt, and the combined with Ian on a 1-5-2 pickoff of a runner on 3rd to end the game. A solid beginning.
